Areas of clinical practice
Birth Realted Brachial Plexus Palsy (BRBPP or Erb’s palsy) in neonates, children, adolescents and adults:
Primary assessment, primary brachial plexus surgery, Nerve grafting. Botulinum toxin therapy, secondary reconstruction of shoulder, elbow, forearm and hand through – nerve transfer and tendon transfer. Anterior shoulder release, glenoplasty, shoulder rebalancing, latissumus dorsi tendon transfer, pronation osteotomy, humeral osteomy, acromial osteotomy, wrist fusion, tendon transfers for wrist drop.
Nerve Injury in the Upper and Lower Limb:
Assessment, diagnosis, primary repair, nerve gap reconstruction, nerve grafting, nerve transfer (sensory/motor), neuroma relocation, TMR (Targeted Muscle Reinnervation).
Adult Brachial Plexus Injury:
Primary assessment, primary brachial plexus surgery, spinal nerve re-implantation, secondary reconstruction of shoulder, elbow , forearm and hand through nerve transfer and tendon transfer, sensory nerve transfer. supra- and infra-clavicular plexal injury repair and reconstruction, Co-contraction therapy.
Peripheral Nerve Injury and compression in Upper and Lower Limbs:
Diagnostic assessment, injections, surgical decompression; (Thoracic outlet, cubital tunnel, carpal tunnel, Guyon’s canal, Tarsal Tunnel)
Peripheral Nerve Tumours:
Excisions biopsy treatment for Schwannoma, Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumours (MPNST), Neuroma relocation.
Amputated Limb pain and sensory modulation:
Targeted Muscle Re-innervation (TMR), neuroma relocation, Sensory nerve transfer.
Hand Surgery:
Reconstructive hand surgery for Ulnar, Radial or median nerve palsy, cubital tunnel, carpal tunnel, Guyon’s canal, peripheral nerve treatment of spasticity, nerve decompressions. Wrist and finger fusion. Tumour excision. Nerve repair.
